Professor David Nicol’s research focuses on the study of large-scale systems encounters problems in representation, scalability, and behavior. Project MOSES investigates such issues, particularly in the context of networking security. He currently serves as Director of the Information Trust Institute, a University of Illinois research center that provides national leadership combining research and education with industrial outreach in trustworthy and secure information systems. His research interests include high performance computing, modeling and simulation of large-scale systems, networks and cyber-security.
